Individuals, couples, and groups are all welcome. Whatever the configuration, we create a respectful, confidential environment in which you are free and encouraged to explore any and all aspects of yourself.

I am skilled at working with most issues that people bring to therapy, and I am trained in both cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy. These approaches are very different, and I am happy to talk with you about the benefits of both. Some people prefer the structure of CBT, in which we set an agenda each week, collaborate on specific problems, and then set between-session activities that train you to become your own cognitive therapist. Other people tend to benefit from a more psychoanalytic approach, which is more about helping you gain insight into what is either partly or fully unconscious for you. In either approach, a relationship of respect and care are paramount.

I did my undergraduate studies at Columbia University and my graduate training at New York University. More importantly, I engage constantly in postgraduate education and supervision. I have worked in outpatient psychiatric settings, treating a broad spectrum of patient issues, and I am licensed to practice as a clinical social worker by the State of New York.

Please feel free to call me at (917) 960-8069, or click Contact above to arrange a phone or in-person consultation. A consultation is an honest and respectful discussion of your needs and how I may be of help.
